Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work as an assistant cost consultant on the clients' (Sainsburys) refurbishment projects. My role includes attending site, managing costs amongst several stakeholders, producing periodic reports and communicating with the client. I also work on the Goods Online rollout project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my work as I feel that I am able to adjust my schedule to suit my needs and take ownership of my work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I am constantly learning by shadowing colleagues and contractors to gain a better understanding of processes. I have been given more responsibility this year and feel that I have a good understanding of how to produce reports that align with the cost forecasts.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I believe that I have a good structure in place as I mostly am able to plan my work and understand the requirements to fulfill my role. I am always available for meetings and discussions to ensure that project work is completed on time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Mace are pretty good when it comes to supporting me in my role. When I need time to study, I feel that I have the ability to work with my colleagues to ensure I have adequate time to fulfill my role and university course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I have found LSBU to be poor this year in terms of supporting my education. Other than the Construction Contract Law module, I feel that I have encountered issues either with lecturer attendance. Specifically the Cost Planning and Tender Process module whereby the lecturer has attended 25% of the lectures this year. LSBU also haven't catered this into our revision/ test as they have not provided us with further support despite the amount of complaints from students. Also, I feel that some of the lecturers' attitude is off and do not feel that I am able to ask questions if I do not understand without getting an answer back in a tone.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I somewhat agree with this comment as it has provided me with skills and knowledge that I can take into my role. However, the account works slightly different that I can't directly relate this to my role in each module.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I attend networking and social events at work and am a member of the LSBU Basketball team.
