Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Really engaging and exciting job. Daily exposure to new tasks and meeting the team. Taking part in meetings and getting exposure to the wider work of the division. In addition, there are numerous scheduled activities from the programme apart from the work allocated by the team.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

In the initial weeks I didn't get much responsibility but with time passing and getting more experience I started receiving more. It seems like the better way to give chance to interns to present their capabilities as initially the stress of the new place is a little bit overwhelming. Overall, it gets better every next week.

Yes, the exposure to new technologies is immense. I have worked primarily with new technologies and got exposed to systems I have never used before. I am facing daily challenges which help me become better developer.

I got support whenever I needed. There were various channels like my line manager, mentor, buddy, team members and anyone who comes your way is a great source of information and help.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone is friendly and want to help and support the rest. I like that everyone has and knows their purpose in the team. Always thriving for the best with the customer needs in mind.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

My internship has been packed with activities, managed to meet so many new people and get familiar with Barclays in general. It has been a great journey for a young individual who is just starting their career!!
