Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I sit within an estimating team as of current, I help to create cost plans, basis of estimate reports and frequently use software such as Cost X in order to produce this.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my program however it can be slow at times. The development sessions run monthly by the emerging talent team are greatly insightful and foster development of skills essential to the industry.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to use Cost X and Excel confidently, developed analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, technical proficiency and project management. These skills help me create accurate cost estimates, manage projects efficiently, and collaborate successfully with clients and my team.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider run tripartite reviews with skills advisors to have check-ins with apprentices along with their managers and ensure that adequate progression is being made.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the moment I am not seeing a lot of transferability but that is due to my current modules being more site based information/learning.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The company's apprentice scheme is well established and equipped to train young people and give them a springboard into the corporate world, the emerging talent team are actively involved in making sure you're happy with your progression and are able to assist in any areas they can.

You get out what you put in, put yourself forward for as much as you can and make yourself visible within the company.
