Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
calculate bonus, interact with stakeholders, validate and correct HR data, generate and issue payroll files.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Mostly self guided learning which has taken some getting used to. A fair number of resources are a little out of date, but have been told this is being addressed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
learned a lot of HR skills that i didn't have previously. Learned a lot about legislature and processess.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Loosey goosey, whilst the main timeline of entering gateway and final project are well defined, everything in between is quite mercurial.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Manager ensures we allocate time for CIPD every week, employer has paid fo rhte course so tries to make sure we have what we need to pass.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
my trainer of Babington is without a doubt the best trainer i have encountered. Speaking to other learners shows me that they do not have anyone half as supportive or encouraging as she.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Not massively, but it will support any applications to other areas of HR.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am co-chair of the HR social committee in BT.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Fairly safe job, fairly good pay, scope to move around as it is such a large company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
Make a name for yourself, be seen, engage in activities, and say yes to anything as long as you have the time and resource that it doesn't impact your day-to-day role. Positive mindset goes a long long way.
