Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Role entails shadowing calls and contributing to projects within the team of interest to me, where possible. Networking is also a large part of the role to expand my knowledge of other teams and broader HR interests.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I have been placed on a range of projects over the course of my internship, that of which ranged in my responsibility. My fresh insight was particularly helpful in projects that wished to change/upgrade existing systems

Time management skills have improved, as well as task prioritization. The nature of the work has development my communication and networking skills, and I feel more aware of the importance of how I present myself when meeting new people.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company has done a really good job in fostering an inclusive and welcoming culture in the work place - I definitely want to immerse myself in Barclays' culture in my future career path
