Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I have assisted on various pension related projects on work such as checking actuarial assumptions of audits and buy-in valuations, drafted slides for client presentations and carried out some business development research and collated this in a report format.
Throughout the internship, all interns are involved with the Dragon's Den project where you are given a social enterprise to work with and you produce a plan for the future based on their needs.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, there is a high level of trust put in you from the start as you are tasked with various pieces of work. Despite this, everyone is extremely approachable so any issues/queries you may have they are more than happy to help with. I have found this one of the best areas of the internship.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to PwC
Apply! If you get to an interview stage just be yourself and recruiters are only people after all and want to hire someone they would want to work with. If you are successful and get a place on the internship programme, ask as many questions as you can and try to get to know as many people as you can - different grades and lines of service as well as fellow interns.
