Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Daily tasks include emails to chase information, compiling documentation and completing university work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme, but I would enjoy it more if university was not remote. We only attend in person lectures every other or every few weeks, and I find online sessions to be less engaging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I have been developing the APM competencies throughout placement and uni, and have learnt how to use lots of new computer programmes on placement. I have also learnt valuble skills for the wider world of wo0k, that will help me in any job sector.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very well structured, we are given all the information we need at the beginning and are guided throughout. For example all of the required paperwork and tracking like off the job hours, we are given lots of guidance with and there is always someone to assist should you need it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We receive a lot of support, from mental health, addiction, physical health, and financial advice and benefits.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
We receive less support from university, it is very individualistic and teachers are not always prompt to respond to queries, and their responses are often unhelpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It allows me to transfer skills and knowledge from uni into my daily work on placement that i would not have had otherwise.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there are lots of extra events, such as stretch projects, and events to help out at.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The job perks are second to non, the pension and shares schemes are brilliant is there are very few other places in the area which offer similar things. The apprenticeship schemes are very attractive as they offer the chance to learn whilst having a stable job where you can develop your learning.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
During applications and interviews, to talk about all experience you have, even if you may thin it is not relevant, because every single job teaches you valuble transferable skills and it is a good trait to be able to reflect on these and see their value.
