Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Preparing financial statements and corporation tax returns for all types of entities. Preparing personal tax returns and helping with client software issus
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It works well with study and family life. They encourage to always seek any help that is needed and help others with knowledge relating to the apprenticeship

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Constant training and updates within the work place is given on many different activities such as software, excel, soft skills training, VAT

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured and Old Mill will look at how we can incorporate our study within the work place e.g. personal tax return preparations when studying the module.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Alot of support is given and they encourage to speak up when more support is needed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider is very accomodating and very knowledgeable with all aspects of the workplace and the individual modules
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Gaining more knowledge each module is key to helping me through the qualification and learning how to incorporate that into the practise
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Old Mill is a very social environment with many team building activities and social events with our individual teams and also as a firm which is great to network. There is also a Netball team that Old Mill sponsor and encourage as any networking events as possible to help us thrive.

Why?
They look after and support you throughout the studies and also the career pathway is never ending so can always have many different out looks and encouraged to try other roles within the business
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Old Mill?
To really make sure Accounting is for you and to really incorporate study into the work role as much as you can and if you can't then speak up for support
