Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Monday to Wednesday we spend in college, we have four lessons a day which last 1.30 each. The topics we do in college are Project, CAD, Communications, Health and Safety, Drawing and Design, Electrical Principles, Mechanical Principles and Maths. Thursday and Friday we spend on site working on various things, such as training and courses we need to complete to come onsite properly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I prefer when we come onsite rather than in college, during college we have days where our tutors arent in so spend majority of the day on our own. On site the day feels like we have things to do and are always kept busy.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I think my skills have improved since joining bae these include collaboration, courage and strategic vision, during the week at outward bound we carried out, my communication skills improved by planning different routes during our outward bound expedition where we went on a hike then camped.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

majority of the time the programme is well structured, having things planned so we are kept busy and always have different things to do. In college we have a lot of work but not much help with it. Otehr than that the apprenticeship structure is quite well set out
How much support do you receive from your employer?

we have alot of support from our employer, me personally haven't needed much support but if i even did need it i know it would be given to me
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive the right amount of support for our apprenticeship, any questions i have asked has been answered fully and in depth. anything that we do not understand we are helped with and are never left not knowing what to do.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i feel as though my qualifications will help my performance in my role by giving me better skills to do my best in the role, the qualifications will help me understand my role better before coming into the business by improving my confidence and knowledge on the role to be able to do my best when entering the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are extra curricular activities to get involved in this includes things like the student council, when we come on site in a few months we will have extra stem activities such as beach cleans, visiting schools, etc.

Why?
BAE systems offers a lot of opportunities for people to progress and exceed in their role, BAE offers people job security and a wide space for progression, there are many different areas people can go into, bae also offer extra qualifications such as the HNC and Degree's.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
I would advise them to stay focused and get work done, perform your best always, ask questions and always stay engaged.
