Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Manage projects on a basis of time, cost, quality and resources. This involves working closely with stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to the best standard possible and to the time and cost that has been agreed upon with the customer.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme is engaging and has been a great development opportunity by providing experiences that I wouldn't be able to get in any other business. This has made my time on the apprenticeship enjoyable and has allowed me to gain new skills that will be useful in the future.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have learnt and developed skills in leadership, collaboration, communication and inclusion.
I have also developed skills that are more project manager focused such as; stakeholder management, business environment, project justification.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme has a good structure. It is easy to get a hold of the team that is in charge of managing the apprentices if there is ever any need to do so; for example, if any help with a problem is needed. However, on occasion there is sometimes issues with the way that the team handles issues that are programme orientated and effect the whole apprentice work force.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support provided by the employer on a personal level (personal issues such as; mental health help, workplace disputes, etc) is exceptional and is hard to fault. However, as mentioned above when issues that are not personal and effect the whole apprentice cohort such as; information on certain apprenticeship things that need completing. The support can sometimes be lacking. Although, it is still there and the team do try to improve the engagement and support they give in these situations.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider provides adequate support when working towards qualifications. However, this support could be improved as sometimes on specific modules of the qualification it has felt as though the support is non existent.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel as though understanding methodology and techniques allows for these ideas to be used in practice in the job role. This means that I am able to perform to a higher standard in my job than I would if there was no training provided on the apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
N/A

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would highly recommend the company to a friend due to the fact that it is an incredible opportunity that has allowed me to see and do things that no other company would be able to offer. The employee benefits are also a great intensive to join the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Advice I would give would be to not be afraid to ask questions. Everyone in the business is incredibly supportive and always willing to help an apprentice learn something new. This has helped me in my journey so far as it has enabled me to be involved in things outside of my normal day to day job and gain new experiences and skills.
