5/5
As a payroll clerk, I’ve definitely developed several existing skills and picked up some new ones too. I’ve become more confident in using payroll software efficiently, especially when it comes to processing large volumes of data accurately and within strict deadlines. I've also improved my understanding of current legislation around tax codes, National Insurance, and statutory payments, which has helped me spot errors and ensure compliance more effectively.
On top of that, I’ve developed stronger communication skills when liaising with clients and employees, especially when explaining payroll queries in a clear and professional way. I’m also more confident in handling sensitive information securely, following GDPR protocols more closely. All in all, I’m becoming more precise, organised, and knowledgeable in my role
