Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My job involves the completion of financial records and processes for external clients. This involves the completion of financial year end accounts, completion of bookkeeping and also completion of VAT returns.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am enjoying both the theory (College) and practical (Work) side to my programme. It is an enjoyable programme and it is interesting to learn the background of why you are doing the things that you do in work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
My people skills have improved a lot more. This is through communication with my colleagues but also having the confidence to speak to clients as well.
My decision making skills have also improved as I have the make decisions while I am creating the accounts.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My programme has recently improved a lot in terms of organisation and structure as we have implemented a new structure within our team. It flows a lot better but there is still work to be done as it is still new.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive plenty of support from work whether this be my managers or my fellow apprentices. They are always extremely willing to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is very good at offering support. I have regular meetings with my college coach to check up on how I am finding the work and if there is any additional help I need both educationally and mentally.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification helps provide a backing up of my work so I actually understand why stuff gets done not just that it gets done which also helps new things become easier top learn as you know why and also helps you to be able to identify things which may need flagging.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are some networking events but not many. There are future activities planned as it is something which has been identified as needing improving.
