Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I complete assessments for individuals in their homes and consider equipment or adaptations that will enable them to remain safe and independent. I keep accurate records of my involvement. I liaise with other health professionals to support my client. I hold a case load and am responsible for managing this.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Immensely. Both the academic part of the programme and work based part of the programme provides a huge amount of variety to my day. I am enjoying learning new skills and the feeling of achievement.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my communication skills to be able to complete face to face assessments. I have developed a greater understanding of equipment/adaptations. I have improved my knowledge of physical/mental health and learning disability conditions. I am developing my skills for recording my clinical rationale when decision making.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised. I am given plenty of notice in regards to my schedule.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a good amount of support. I have regular supervisions and I am able to reach out to my manage and team members for support. I am also trusted to act as an autonomous practitioner which will support my in my future practice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A good amount of support. I have a tutor that I can reach out to and I am offered 1 to 1 sessions to talk about any assignments that are due.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am not yet qualified.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I attend networking events which are encouraged by my manager. my team also meets for lunches and coffee a few times a year.
