Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The first week in London was a 4-day induction. The days were very busy, filled with insightful talks from the Senior partner, other Executive Partners, Pro Bono and D&I teams, as well as a Litigation simulation session and a public speaking workshop. The induction was very enjoyable and prepared you for the next two weeks. It was also a great opportunity to meet others in your cohort (around 120 across all DLA Piper offices) and network. The fifth day of the first week was an office induction based at your regional office (Manchester).
The second and third week was in your regional office sat with your allocated teams completing tasks and experiencing what it is like as a trainee at DLA Piper. You are allocated a supervisor and buddy so you have a great support system to guide you through the programme.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Everyday there was a talk from a Global lead of each practice area which provided great insight into how the firm operated and what each practice area involved.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
DLA Piper has people at the heart of its culture and that was demonstrated throughout the entire internship. Everyone was approachable, chatty and made you feel at home. There was always someone to ask for help if you were stuck.
