Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a buying admin, I manage vendor queries and buyer requests. I also liaise with our logistics team to keep track of goods, as well as managing samples. I attend weekly trade meetings, alongside my merchandise team to ensure i am always up to date with things that are going on with my department.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme, i learn new things every day. I enjoy the 'on the job' aspect of this apprenticeship, because it allows me to learn using real life experiences that i need in my role. I enjoy going to Fahio nRetail Academy, as it's a change in scenery and is so interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my maths skills by frequently using excel. I use maths regularly in my role, as sometimes I will need to action cost reductions to get a discount. I have also developed my English language skills by frequently writing professional emails.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

We have regular catch up with our supervisers to keep track on our development and set clear goals. However, I feel that somethings are left last minute and with a lack of preparation.

I feel very supported, my supervisor is always there to help me or if I need any extra assistance.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Very supported, they have encouraged us to take regular study hours to help balance our workload.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that it's very relevent and goes hand in hand with my role. Things that i have learnt at college allow me to fully undertand tasks at work.

Yes, there are many extra curricular activities, such as netball/football teams, champions of a specific skill, sample sale helpers, red nose day activities, team days and many more.
