Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working in a team and shadowing a skilled operator to learn the skills on the job, then applying them. The work is a range of mechanical and electrical work depending on which section you are working on and what operator you are working with.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy the day to day. In comparison to when I was at college, the days seem to go by a lot quicker and I think this is due to me enjoying it.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills that I am sure will be beneficial throughout my career, for example learning how to read drawings, information about tooling and significantly improving my hands on skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is quite well structured to provide me with as much experience as possible, because I do a placement on each section on the shop floor. This helps me discover what I like and do not like so that I have an idea of where I want to work when I finish my apprenticeship. However, I wish that external placements were available to operations apprentices (like they are for other apprentices).
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot. The business takes us on personal development courses and networking events, as well as just day to day support to fulfil your job role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Most tutors are willing to thoroughly explain something again and again if you do not understand it, as well as helping students individually.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
