Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to take part in every manufacturing area possible and develop my skills and knowledge as the apprenticeship goes along. I will always be paired with a skilled person and during my placement I will shadow them to develop hands on skills. During my placement I am also looking for ways to improve and develop the area .
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship. I feel I always have support and someone to talk to. I feel valued to the company and appreciate the time invested in to me. The programme has developed my physical and mental skills.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Every skill I use during my day to day job was taught to me by MBDA. For example, soldering was a skill taught to me as soon as I started my apprenticeship. I was taught at a very high standard and to certain regulations.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well organised. I knew from the day I started how the next couple of months were going to look. The company doesn't plan for the next week , it plans for the next 4 years of my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We receive a lot of support , from mental health classes to always knowing who to contact. We also have monthly catch-ups where we raise any concerns.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive a lot of support such as monthly meetings to make sure we are happy with college and the knowledge we have gained so far. We have someone who we know we can contact if there is any concerns or problems.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me understand my role more in a wider knowledge. At work I am more hands on based where as the knowledge given to me by my training provider helps me understand my work fully.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are so many! I have attended a few of them, such as charity events and socialising with people I normally wouldn't.

Why wouldn't I ? They offer support in any department , you always feel valued , you're given so many opportunities and there is always room to grow.

Make the most of any opportunity and BE YOURSELF.
