Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I support my team by ordering concrete through pour cards, site diaries, Updating APs and RAMs, creating handover documents like QIR markups, LSR trackers, I also make dig permits where I mark out near by services using a total station and rover and brief the job to the guys onsite.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am starting to really enjoy my work as I have been given an increased amount of responsibility and am truly starting to feel a part of the team. It was a big move for me as it required me to move 3 hours away from home but I believe it is helping me to grow as a person and as a professional

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I am further developing my surveying skills as I have had to learn how to set up via resection. my communication skills have improved as I have to communicate effectively day to day to get the necessary information from different members of different teams.

Structure and Support

5/5
It is well organised as we have a dedicated Early careers team.

5/5
Quite a lot. We have regular keeping connected calls and online webinars. they also provide a living away allowance and travel home is paid for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They provide us with a hotel during the week and all food is paid for. As well as Travel.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
our first 9 week block was a very general introduction to construction and I personally, as someone who has studied construction since year 10 felt it was not very beneficial.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
2 have come up during the last 6 months which is quite poor.
