Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role is to do lab work to help validate new targets to treat neuro degeneration. Usually I will be in the lab , planning experiments or analysing my data
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes my supervisor really trusted me to make decisions, however I also knew that if I need support I could just ask and he would be more than happy to help.

I really enjoyed my placement, the team was an absolute delight to be a part of. I would love to do an industrial phd now!

What advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca
If you are passionate, then people will usually see that and will try to go the extra mile back for you. I really enjoyed the placement and gained lots of experience with new techniques.
