Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role is quite varied, it involves using various software packages for engineering design e.g., AutoCAD, Civils3D and some modelling software. I also get involved in some project management activities e.g., forecasting, project tracking.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love my programme, its the one thing I have done that I have never regretted and I would recommend it to anyone, provided you know what it entails

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned and developed loads of new skills. Mainly in my engineering design and modelling abilities, but I have also been able to develop my project management aptitude

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme on the Uni side of things isn't amazingly organised and they typically fall behind, but work tends to be really good, providing adequate time for study and revision especially around exam season
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get loads of support and compared to my previous employer, I realise how lucky I am
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I get adequate support from the training provider, i guess as much as is required by the apprenticeship standard
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like the qualification contributes a lot to performing the role better, it gives you the fundamental understanding of the design principles, so when at work you understand what the tools you'll use for design work are doing e.g., structural modelling
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is various social events throughout the year which are the official company ones e.g., summer event, Christmas, but on a monthly basis there is also typically events organised which can range from physical activates to a meal and drink
