Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm in a Business Analyst Role working on projects that make a change to how the business works from assessing small changes with one stakeholder to working on £multi-million software changes where I'm in a much larger team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much. I've met people from other businesses and seen how they work. I've had some good structure to learning and am supported throughout

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
yes, all of my colleagues do training whether apprenticeship or other formal courses and then we do regular training provided internally, some of this is self managed and some in groups. It would be a strange month if there was not something new to learn about.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well. there is plenty of notice for activities and deadlines are really clear.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots. My direct manager is there if I need him but also I get guaranteed time off to complete all training.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Again lots. I can reach out at any time and always get a quick reply.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It's pretty good. I'm doing the course that matches my job role although sometimes I wish we'd done more practice
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There's always something going on and lots of clubs and events. BT is part of the BA guild and invites BA to get together and learn from each other and also I've attended Ted Talk type events from the Guild which have been very interesting.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If you want a long term employer but still want to try lots of different jobs then the opportunities are there for you. BT and EE has sites in many locations across the UK and many different roles
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
Be willing to look outside the classic call centre or retail roles. BT is so much more than that but starting in customer facing roles really helps get into the area.
