Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am an apprentice civil engineer. Day-to-day i create and edit engineering drawings, as well as writing reports and filling in health and safety documents
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
For the most part i enjoy the programme, however, i am only 6 months in so some of the work isn't very challenging

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed my skills in CAD as well as being more aware of health and safety

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure is very good. It is very clear about University days and office days, and there is a very clear training format. The only downside is during holidays when University isn't on, there is less guidance on the 20% off the job training
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer and there is always several people i can talk to if i need help or support. I also feel very comfortable reaching out for support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Due to the one day in Uni per week, support is limited. There is a review every 3 months which is very helpful however. There could be more support for during holidays, or more guidance towards completing off the job training
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Due to only being 6 months in, the skills i am learning are very limited and do not carry across to the workplace as well as they could. I am sure this will improve over time however.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of opportunities for networking through different events during office hours, as well as social events such as seasonal events after work, such as a Christmas party. The office is very social, and there are chances for drinks and other meet ups after work, as well as activites in work such as pool
