Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am responsible for running dashboards to send to stakeholders and completing tasks such as data validation.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the blend between on the job learning and learning the different content in the modules. I also enjoy the opportunity to complete the live learning with other apprentices and a specialist tutor.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Become more competent on excel and learning new skills about software such as SQL, R, Python etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured and there is always support on hand to help if needed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. As well as a designated weekly day off to complete my studies, I am also given time off to complete my live learning weeks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from the training provider. There is always someone available to help and they are constantly sending out help and advice in newsletters etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training I complete helps me feel more confident with the software I am using and helps me to understand how the different software works in relation to the activities I do.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

So at NatWest there are different streams who host different events for apprentices, these include networking, social events or volunteering events. Alongside this, there are teams within each hub base who run events for all employees.

Why?
They are a brilliant employer with plenty of good benefits for staff and they compensate apprentices really well. They also have plenty of opportunities to get involved in real projects and also events both inside and outside of work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Think about why you want to work at NatWest specifically compared to other employer - what is it about NatWest that stands out. Think about specific situations where you have shown skills. Research around the job - any councils, volunteering etc etc.
