Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basics my team looks after the storage devices and clears any unused arrays or switches to make sure we are not running out of space.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it for the most part. My only dislike of it would be the excessive documentation for my coursework.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am constantly improving myself in many skills such as communication, professionalism, Jira, etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well organised and quite flexible. Which makes it easier for me to focus on work and coursework in their own time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manger is very helpful, he periodically checks on me enquiring if i need any help or support in anything. He is also good at letting me do my course work outside of my allotted times if I am running behind.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My trainer is very helpful, always providing me with addental resources that might help me. And moving around deadlines if it conflicts with work or personal things.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have not finished my apprenticeship yet but so far I have been able to implement everything I have learned from my coursework into my work and it has helped me refine my skills and the efficacy of my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a number of networks such as the Multicultural network, the curling club, etc. We also have a Apprentice council which hosts social gatherings, for apprentices throughout the year which I recently became a council member of.

Why?
Its a great place to start your working journey! the collages are all very welcoming. Everyone helps out if you need anything. There is loads to get involved with other than just work. They are very accommodating within reason. And it is overall a great place to work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
it's okay to be nervous but its important to speak clearly and convey your points across. It can be had to ask questions about difficult topics buts okay to ask even if you think it's too early.
