Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently training as a IT Technician in a high school. This is a fast paced in environment and definitely keeps me on my toes. My day-to-day roles include maintenance of the schools IT equipment, varying from physical checks on the servers and CCTV to access points for wireless connectivity.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot. I enjoyed getting my hands on when learning new skills and this has allowed me to do that. I have a high passion for what I am currently learning and have enjoyed all the new skills I have learnt. The resources we have been given to help grow knowledge has been very helpful and engaging and allows for it to be completed in your own time.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots of new skills whilst completing my apprenticeship which I had started with very little knowledge. Working as an apprentice has allowed me to learn on the job, which is my preferred way to work. It allows me to see and use the skills I have learnt in action.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is structured really well. I have had a guide on what I need to learn, with clear videos and tests to show that I understand what it is I have learnt. I had to undertake a portfolio where I uploaded all the skills I have learnt during my apprenticeship and this has been simple and planned out really well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been extremely supportive throughout my apprenticeship, and answered any questions I had. With the supportive and speedy replies, my mind has been put at ease many times. My tutor that has been assigned to me has always been supportive and helpful, especially during the completion of my portfolio. Constant feedback has been provided for me to improve
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have had constant support throughout, meeting once a month to see what I have done and what needs doing. I have requested more meetings with my tutor to go through certain things and I haven't had any issues with getting more calls set up. Towards the end of the apprenticeship the meetings have increased to support the final completion of my work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the moment I am training as an IT technician in a high school. This fast paced environment that needs someone with quick decision making and good troubleshooting skills. The qualification that I am working towards, not only helps me in my role, giving me ways to troubleshoot and come up with resolutions but also provides me with knowledge, to work outside of the education area.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not currently but my workplace regularly has social events that anyone is welcome to join.

Yes
Why?
I would recommend LMP has they are extremely supportive throughout. The learning side, is simple and easy to follow. The tutors they provide are again supportive.
