Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Communicating with the team day today on what tasks need to be completed and the timeline that we're working on to get an understanding of the scale and scope.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
Not massively, the role is called associate project manager but it is a purely planning based apprenticeship. None of the placements are on the project management programmes.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have developed my collaboration and independent working skills, collaboration is an easy one to develop in this environment due to the fact you are in a team as an apprentice and can use your peers to get help on tasks.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Not very well, as an apprentice you'd expect to be doing some learning or curricular activities but we have a random training course every so often booked in and our skills coaches and functional lead has changed 3 times within our first 6 months.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
From the team I am placed in a decent amount, but from my skills coaches and the actual company very little contact and communication especially as an apprentice who has relocated.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Little to none.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
The qualifacations are pm based which is what I want but the actual job we are doing doesn't involve an pm skills so they do not help us perform better in our role at all.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
unsure

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's a good company and I can see the infrastructure is good for other courses and cohorts but my programme isn't the best.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
don't apply for associate pm if you want to be a pm.
