Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Delivering projects in line with business strategy, this includes engaging with stakeholders, collaborating with other teams and colleagues, and monitoring project progress.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my apprenticeship, it has a good balance of workload with university work, which prevents you becoming burnt out or bored.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My communication skills have developed due to the need to be able to vary communication styles and methods, depending on what you are communicating and who the recipient is.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The course is overall very structured and organised, the only part which can be unclear is off the job hours expectations, as we have received mixed information based on whether we should be completing off the job hours during term breaks etc.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is a wide range of support available and it is constantly reminded to us the different available resources and routes for support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We have a wide range of support available to us for university work and study. The only thing which can be viewed negatively is that pay increases each year are not given if you don't pass your university year, which for some people will absolutely have a negative affect on them when taking exams due to the threat of not being given your pay rise if you don't pass.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The university degree studies are heavily linked with your role, which allows you to apply in the work place, the knowledge that you learn at university. It's difficult to cover the full range of KSB's so being able to learn more in depth about every single on of them allows you to get a better idea of what tasks in the workplace might allow you to cover KSB's that you have been struggling to cover.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is an increasing number of extra curricular/social activities/events available to the whole work force as well as just apprentice groups. These include things such as sports clubs/teams, charity groups, and many more.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The apprentice experience at BAE is overall very organised, supportive, and structured.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
The application phase isn't a test, its a process to get to know you. Focus on demonstrating how character and qualities as a person, rather than trying to pretend to have the knowledge of a professional in your chosen area!
