Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an apprentice for AB building and electrical, i gain experience and knowledge as an electrician each day. I shadow one of the AB workers every day where they teach me new and important skills that i will need to become qualified.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme massively as each day i get to learn while experiencing the work environment that i will face.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have now developed new skills and techniques in electrics. Specifically testing and installation work in a domestic environment.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My company is organised extremely well as i’m arranged to be picked up every day for work. This also allows me to understand the timetable i will follow as an employee.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer supplies me with an immense amount of support. Any questions ask are explained very well and all tasks are shown to me in a way i get to learn.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am well educated due to my apprenticeship and have an advantage in the future because my training provider ensures i am able to learn and preform the role i’m aiming towards.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I attend college where i also gain the knowledge i need to become an electrician.

As i have gained all the knowledge and experience i need. I also feel as though i have an advantage for future work due to this.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AB Building and Electrical?
An apprenticeship is the best decision for anyone leaving school as you gain everything you need for your future.
