Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a civil engineering apprentice, day to day use a lot of CAD and BIM softwares. Help with technical drawings and 2D, 3D models. Work on a range of civil structures projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy working for Arup. It is a good balance, my college day really helps to break up my week and extend my knowledge further. The projects are exciting and every day is a learning day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Really good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Arup is really supportive and I communicate with my line manager regularly and he is always there for support and help. Have frequent meetings about my progress.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is really good and supportive. They will help if you are unsure of anything and will give you extra materials to help you and run sessions in the half term to make sure you are on track and if needed can catch up in those sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

They both align really well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are lots of social events and activities at ARUP to get involved with and lots of different networking sessions.
