Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Design of electrical, mechanical and plumbing engineering systems using CAD softwares like Revit, Trimble Amtech and more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have been greatly enjoying the programme as it allows me the flexibility and stability that comes with working a job that has remote working. This allows me to distribute my hours to fit any personal needs that arise, and allows me to do better work by completing it in my own hours of the day

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've developed skills in working well with in groups or teams, personal and work related time management, professional communication and advanced research techniques to name a few

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The plan of my programme is well thought out and allows me to see where I am likely to be throughout the next 5 years and gives me plenty of time to learn the skills and knowledge required for the job at hand before taking on responsibilities
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
ARUP delivers a range of benefits to employees. Day to day the support I receive is top tier, and I always know that there are so many people that I can reach out to if I am having issues, all of which have different experiences and therefore there is always someone to provide the right advice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
UWE support is good. I haven't had many issues that I have had to raise therefore I have never needed much support and can't really comment. Any issues that arise in lectures or in tutorials, the lecturers are keen to solve and often take extra steps to help their students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I am currently finishing my second year which means that I am completing the foundation course before starting the specifics of the degree. Already I have learnt much in Uni that has provided me with knowledge that I can put to use in my day to day work and I expect that there will be lots and lots more to come.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My experience with extra-curricular activities are with both ARUP Bristol and ARUP Cardiff. Both offices provides a vast range of clubs and often do group socials (like pub quizzes or competitions against other offices) or trips away that are all always great fun.
