Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in an ad-hoc finance role, helping business partners with any queries that they have. This varies day by day and is very interesting

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The structured development programme has been great as it feels very organised. I enjoy the opportunities that have been given to me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to navigate and use PowerBI/ PowerQuery as well as more detailed finance calcs. I have also improved my Excel skills and communication skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised, with a rotation to a new team each year. We also are given set development programmes to participate in which is good.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

4/5

I receive a good amount of support from my team/line manager but also the early careers teams, with frequent catch ups with all of them. I am also able to reach out to them if I have any questions whenever I feel the need to.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We are given a decent amount of support, sometimes there could be some more, however my employer helps to fill in the gaps when needed.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The CIMA qualification helps me understand the reasoning for some of the tasks I do.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, we have a social team where we organising events for those of us in early careers, but also social teams within finance. We have a big social event twice a year, with frequent team socials as well. We also have sports events for Red Nose Day.

Would you recommend TJX Europe to a friend?

Why?

They have been very supportive and helped me network and get comfortable in my role. The culture at TJX is very welcoming.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TJX Europe?

The grad programme is very structured and TJX provides lots of support. However the exams are stressful and a lot when also doing your day-to-day job so ensure you are sure you want to do these exams!
