Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Supporting with the admin tasks for the team and onboarding for all new starters
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The apprenticeship programme feels a little low level for what I am doing at work - it doesn't necessarily always link to what I am doing at work but other than that, it is quite insightful. I think the Level 5 equivalent will be more insightful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed a lot of confidence. The role that I am doing is completely new to me so I've also learnt a lot of office skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, we are given a timetable in the beginning of the programme which is stuck to and deadlines are always clearly provided. I have routine check ins with my learning coach from the training provider who supports me when necessary and keeps me on track.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My team are very supportive. I have monthly reviews with my apprenticeship manager and weekly catch-ups with my line manager. They regularly check in if I need any support and are happy to help assist with my apprenticeship work when necessary as well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
There is an expectation for you to manage your own work but the support is always there when necessary. I think they strike a good balance between being supportive and allowing you to get on with it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Not always the case - definitely feel as though some modules have supported me to perform better in the role but I haven't learnt much about employee relations and how to deal with certain cases.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, they offer quarterly socials for all apprentices and grads, along with team socials and company-wide socials. Professional networking events happen occasionally as well.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Berkeley Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If you are coming via an early careers route, you will definitely be supported by your team and surroundings. There is a big focus on employee experience more recently as well. If you perform well and put the effort in, you will see the impact straight away.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Berkeley Group?
Be yourself. Go the extra mile to do things for people, especially in the first few months. If you don't ask, you will not get.
