Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves me working with multiple teams to delivery new items into our Service Catalog. My day-to-day work consists of reaching out to requesters of new items to gather their requirements, before starting to build and create what they've requested. Throughout this process I'm in constant communication with the necessary stakeholders, gaining feedback and ensuring that what I create is up to their expectations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed the apprenticeship program and learnt a lot through the various lessons and projects that I have completed throughout my time. I found it has helped to progress my learning and understanding of IT, and I have picked up knowledge and skills that I will take with me into my career in IT.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
During my apprenticeship, I've developed my presentation and communication skills, by hosting and assisting with large meetings and by building connections with other associates within TJX. I've also developed my technical IT skills and now have some ability in coding and scripting, which allows me to take on more challenging tasks in my job role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
From the TJX side of my apprenticeship, they have provided me with all the help and support I needed, along with being really well organized in ensuring my success of both TJX work and apprenticeship work. From the learning provider side of the program, it definitely could have been more organized and structured, along with having better levels of communications.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer gives me all the support I need and has been really great through this experience. For example, they ensure that I always have work to be doing and push for me to learn new skills whilst doing this work. They also ensure that I have enough time to complete all of my apprenticeship work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Throughout my apprenticeship, my training provider has been there if I needed help from them, ensuring my projects were up to scratch and that my portfolio of work was completed. As I progressed towards the end-point assessment stage, they ensured that I was fully prepared to go into the assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel like this qualification will help my if I were to go into a technical support role later within my IT career, due to all the knowledge I have learn about troubleshooting different problems and diagnosing issues. The general IT knowledge that I have also learnt helps me to understand how some of the IT systems we use work and the effect they have on the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a variety of different extra activities to do at TJX, from being on the social team, and organizing work events, to helping out with charity events and fund raisers. You have loads of opportunity to network with others, both within and outside of your department.
