Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
The day to day of this role depends on which role you are involved in during the rotation. Throughout the 3 years, we get to experience different areas of Procurement. I am currently sitting at the category manager role, which involves building relationships and negotiating with non-merch suppliers, and stakeholders, while also reaching yearly objectives.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the daily tasks, as it is always something different and interesting. The program allows me to further develop my knowledge, and use practical tasks to do so.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have further developed my team work skills, as well as communication skills. I have also developed my negotiating skills, and management/leadership skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The program is well structured, with a clear path from the start to the end. From the beginning, you are aware of the roles you are going to be involved in and the different expectations in each areas. I also found it relevant to the modules the training provider was teaching.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The employer is very supportive and is always there to provide assistance. The employer's values can be seen in the way they build relationships with their apprentices and encourages them to make the most of their program.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider supports me working towards my qualifications with revision sessions, 1-1 tutoring and elearnings provided on their website. They encourage weekly to reach out if assistance is needed, and do an amazing job to make everyone feel included during lessons and exams. So far the experience and support have been really useful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification is relevant to the role. The skills and knowledge required to achieve the qualification are applied on the daily to the role in procurement. The qualification also allows me to have different options after the program ends, so I am able to possibly chose the area of Procurement I find myself more likely to work in.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, the employer encourages all associates to take part in social activites and events throughout the year. These are useful as part of team bonding and networking. Withing the Procurement department, we also focus on monthly off site activities to bring the team together while also visiting/doing something relevant to our department (example: visiting a processing centre or supplier's office).
