Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I shadow and work with my mentor, working with vehicles for Servicing and Repairs. Servicing includes oil and oil filter changes, pollen filters, brake fluid changes, brake pad / disc changes etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot, I work well with the team of technicians and I am able to shadow / work with anyone without any problems. Everyone is willing to help me if I have any problems or require extra hands.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my skills for Teamwork so I can work better as a team with our Aftersales team. I have become better as problem-solving with cars that may have extreme problems and how to fix them.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship is well organised. My manager and mentor make sure I have time to complete work for College and I am kept in the loop for when I have to go to college.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager and mentor both make sure I have time for college work, and are willing to help me learn stuff I need to know before college. Such as giving me / my mentor more jobs that require brakes so I can learn them better before college.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider visits me every ~3 months and keeps me in the loop of how well I am doing, and what I need to do next. My training provider is always available via email, so if I encounter any problems he is willing to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I go to the Volkswagen National Learning Center every ~6 weeks (sometimes longer) to learn the next sections for my job role. Weeks of college I have attended so far are Health and Safety and how to swap brakes etc, My next week is for suspension and steering.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Occasionally we set up nights out, but not through work but as friends in the workshop/showroom.
