Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The logistics department is the middle man between our internal sales people, and external logistics partners. My role consists of administrative processes, such as emailing external partners with proof of purchases and purchase orders, as well as resolving queries with internal account managers to ensure processes are followed.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My role has definitely improved my communication skills, I am now more confident in talking to new people, both via emails and phone calls. Having the freedom to manage my day by myself has developed my time management skills, as I am solely responsible for ensuring my tasks for the day are completed in a timely manner, as well as allocating some time for my apprenticeship work and existing projects.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my team and employer. I have the entirety of Monday to be out of office studying, which enables me to focus solely on my apprentice work for the day, and tends to be enough time to complete a module. We also have apprentice buddies to turn to for advice when we need help

Softcat has loads of extra-curricular activities to get involved in. It is a very social company so easy to get stuck in ! There is a football team, multiple networks to be part of and regular company socials to attend.

Why?
It is a great company to work for, they really do look after their staff and go out of their way to keep employees happy. I no longer dread a Monday morning, and genuinely look forward to coming into work. You feel that your hard work is appreciated by the company.

Be yourself and passionate about what area of business you are applying to, as well as being confident in why you would be a good fit for the company and vice versa.
