Tech Salesperson/Account Manager, day to day consists of Cold Calling to do outreach for the business and advertise what we do and the value we can add to a business, focussing on maintaining relationships with contacts/businesses also.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it a lot, the training is great and so is the job.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, my ability to think and talk on the spot and my ability to communicate in general, in regards to people in different demographics and people from different walks of life

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It's well structured and organised, most things are pretty self explanatory and the more you do certain things, the better you get at it anyway. Hard to get lost really as long as you're on top of things,
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A great amount of support, mainly from peers as everyone is happy to spare some time to answer any questions or at least point you to someone who has the answer to your question if they don't. The company itself offers a lot of support when it comes to balancing work and home life and also wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

You get a good amount of support, the training mentor can sometimes be busy but you aren't ever ignored or forgotten about, things will be addressed when the mentor has time, they still get back to you ASAP
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training really helps you within the role as it's very relevant. It enables you to pick up the right skills when you progress through your role as a salesperson.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, I personally play football with the lads at the office after work and there's also the ability to take out volunteering days to do work for charities. We also have the yearly kick-off which is a great time to meet and network with people in the business doing different things. Also a great night out in general, from what I've heard.

Great place to work at, good benefits and the chance to really grow in a career. Great support and the company promotes a fun work environment and a proper sense of community, you will always find the people you gel with and you make great friends here at Softcat.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
Always brag a little bit about your achievements, but in a way that's confident and not cocky - then apply this to your interviews. Be confident and proud of who you are and what you've achieved. Softcat also love people when they are just themselves. Show how eager you are to succeed and show how you'd be a good investment for the company.
