Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Apprenticeship is good, it's allowed me to learn a variety of skills and open a new path that I never expected during my a levels.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the work, there are good days and there are off days. It's enjoyable to learn new skills, there are just days that are tough.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Plenty, going from primarily academic based to a manual job forced me to relearn everything, whilst building on the writing/epa work that I had built in sixth form.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure is well managed, and apprentices are taken through their required programmes in the required times.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
You're well supported as an apprentice and backed by the company in most cases.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
BAEs side of training, you recieve plenty, however the college side can be lacking.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It's gives you a better understanding of some subjects, though for the most part it's the classroom stuff you learn at college, not the actual skills for the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, you can get invited to help out at events such as open evenings, community outreach programmes etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's an apprenticeship in which you learn a lot of new skills, meet a lot of new people, and you get paid very well for an apprentice.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Get through your shifts and don't treat it like school, treat it like the job it is from day one, and you'll have the support around you to do well.
