Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Workshop and classroom based apprenticeship, spending the first year at college full-time, to then progress to the SASK and placement with one day a week at college. The role involves on the job learning, shadowing tradesmen and individually completing tasks that are workshop based, or on-board the units of the sub to gain helpful experience of the jobs you will complete when you finish the apprenticeship. The one day a week spend at college allows you to gain knowledge of the trade, as well as needed learning of subjects such as maths, health and safety, etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy all parts of the programme, such as meeting new people, learning new skills and knowledge.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills that are helpful for the work to complete, such as the use of tools and equipment, as well as techniques that can be used to complete tasks such as wiring of junction boxes, banding, etc.

guidance and targets allow me to identify my goals and reach them, preforming at the top of my ability. Training and learning more about my role through tasks and tutoring in the workplace and college.
