Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis, I perform general maintenance and repair on what we call our Building Management System. This is where we monitor the heating, ventilation and air conditioning for the building.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I prefer being in the work place as I much enjoy the engineering we do. The study side of the apprenticeship is a touch more difficult but will be worth it in the end

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills since when I joined I did not know a lot about Building Management System. This even involves the soft skills such as meeting new customers, and talking to new people on a day to day basis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
To begin with, the training was structured quite well across the board. This has dropped off unfortunately due to some unforseen circumstances but we have managed to get the training we want when needed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
From my direct line manager and peers I receive a grand amount of support even if I am not asking for it. I could not ask for a better team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The University attempt to support where they can, but we have been let down over the years. Again, we have learnt to manage things ourselves due to to this lack of support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Specifically for me, the qualification does not directly link to my job role, but perhaps provides me a better understanding of engineering as a whole
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are plenty of networking events
