Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I'm an advisor in the Accounts and advisory team. I prepare year end accounts on a daily basis, as well as preparing management accounts and supporting team members when necessary.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Yes! There was some struggle with my exams, but I have felt extremely supported by the firm and with that it has given me more confidence and a push to pass them. My role in the company helps me with my studies, which gives me an understanding on certain syllabus.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting at PM+M I have learnt so much. I've learnt how to prepare a wages rec and PAYE rec and understanding what is needed to prepare a wages. I've also learnt so many other skills, whether it relates to accounts and soft skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall, it is well organised as there are policies in place to understand what is required in the apprenticeship.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I believe I received amazing support from my employer, especially at the beginning as it is a jump between level 4 to level 7.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

In all honesty, it can be a struggle depending on who you speak to. For those who don't really understand the exam board etc, it can be hard to explain certain issues as they are not sure what is going on. However, the tutors and skills coaches really help as much as they can and guide me on my apprenticeship.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Gives us the opportunity to understand our day to day role, the rules and legislations and the firm we work for (Qualities etc).

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are always opportunities to get involved - I've been to many networking events internally and externally, attended a variety of courses provided by the firm and attended/ organised team socials.

Why?

It's a fab firm to work for! They care about the employees and given employee benefits, which includes high percentage to the pension, enhanced maternity etc. They also appreciate the employees in multiple ways. For example, different awards are given etc.
