Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Day-to-day I will be answering client queries on a range of issues. I complete bookkeeping and VAT jobs. Alongside accounts jobs and self-assessment tax returns. So there is a huge range of things I will be doing daily. In terms of communications internally, I work with many different client managers on different jobs, so I have positive communications with them frequently.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my course. The environment in the office is really positive and friendly. We get so much support at work in order for us to develop. We also get so much support from work in terms of our college work, and my employer has a good relationship with the learning provider which has really helped.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a wide range of new skills within my apprenticeship. This includes communication skills, not just with colleagues internally, but also the ability to confidently speak to clients to fix any issues they are experiencing. I have also really developed my timekeeping skills, which is extremely important in a role that has a large number of deadline monthly, quarterly and annually.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is really well organised. I know exactly where I am going and what I'm supposed to be doing each week. All my study leave time is put into my job planner as soon as I know my college days at the start of the year. My days are always planned out and my manager helps with this, and my assessor also gives me lots of support with how to plan well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive so much support from my employer. My manager gives me support daily with anything I need. But also the colleagues around me also give me lots of support and help whenever I need it, whether it be college work, or a question regarding an accounts job, everyone is very happy to help. Other managers are also keen to help me and other trainees with any help they need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I get so much support from my training provider. I get a days release at college each week, where my tutor holds lessons towards the specific unit I am learning. My tutor is always happy to answer all questions I have regarding the course. My assessor also holds a meeting with me every 4 weeks to have a catch up with how I'm doing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has helped me massively at work. It helps me have a proper understanding of 'why things happen' behind what I'm doing. Its helped me take on harder accounts jobs and helped me to help trainees that are less experienced than me, which has also helped me develop.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yeah there are a lot of social activities that I get involved with. I have been to a professional event at my training providers. I have also been to a recruitment event for new trainees to be on the level below me.
