Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Meetings, problem solving, communicating with others team around the site to aid in the build of the boat.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme a lot, all staff are very helpful and get you involved in some crazy things.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Many new skills including: tech skills, professional writing, public speaking, problem solving, management

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure is pretty decent, having college once a week, placement throughout the job are all pretty interesting
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We receive a lot of support from line managers, early careers, skills coaches, unions etc.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a bit however as I joined late to the company I am still missing some things that the rest of my cohort have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the moment it doesn't help much as it is a refresh of A-Levels, but some things like technical drawings have helped a lot and I imagine it will greatly benefit me further down the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Events are held by different in the groups regularly, but there isn't much extracurricular but everyone in our cohort and others get along.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Pay well, you learn so much especially in the hands on aspect, if you learn through physically doing things this is the apprenticeship for you.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Grades aren't everything, they look for people who are interested and have similar past experiences to the apprenticeship.
