Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Designing includes 2D/ 3D designing of cables however all placements are different since i had a placement on 3D modelling which had all areas and disciplines e.g. Electrical, Mechanical and Hull jobs now i am on a 2D team which has me doing ECR and Cable diagrams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
Some days i enjoy but others i'm rather bored which is due to a lack of work or lack of enjoyment of work, I loved my last placement i had the perfect work life balance and had plenty of work to do and it was fun. new placement is not as fun

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
My computing skills have improved significantly as well as my Literacy and formality, i guess public speaking too since there are a few power points i have delivered and my overall attitude for working life has been developed.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
very good in structure and clear at conveying info but can be a bit discriminatory towards apprentices abilities and how much they can be responsible which i find unfair and when raised its usually shut down with "thats the way it is"
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
If you ask for it, its there, if not then you can find yourself in a slump with no help, but when you ask for support someones always there to give you a hand
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
very lenient towards helping you and your interests, support always available when you ask for it
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
If this refers to college then it is hit and miss, some lessons really helped whereas others were purely there to attain the qualifications needed to start working and it was glaringly obvious that some lessons were rather irrelevant
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
plenty of opportunities are given and are usually optional so if you want to take part you can and they are great for team building and developing working relationships inside work which massively helps with work ethic

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It would depend the person because there aren't jobs in here for everyone you have to find something you enjoy which is tricky with how vague it can seem when applying.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
do your research on the job and read the contract make sure its something that you want to do and aren't just applying because you were told to
