Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Project Controls involves supporting project management and other functions from a data analysis perspective.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
Relatively so, the workload (alongside university and STRETCH) is quite high. Therefore doing this apprenticeship as someone who lives independently and has responsibilities other than work, balancing work and home is very difficult.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes. My confidence has grown and I have gained new skills in Excel, specific BAE Systems toolsets and the analysis of data.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Somewhat organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots, both mental and physical.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Lots in the form of 1-2-1s and HELMs, but when it comes to work distribution and consistent feedback - not so much.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
This is dependent on your placement, university can aid in EVM if you haven't already had a placement within a cost/CAM support role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
STRETCH, social events, lots of networking opportunities,

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good place to work, as you get out what you put in. If you are invested in learning and furthering your skill set - BAE offers lots of opportunities to do so.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
(If you get in) Reach out for support as much as you can, ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to make mistakes
