Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an audit advisor, soon to become senior advisor so I am leading audit teams on site at clients. I am taking control of the risky areas of the audit whilst training some of the team on some of the less risky parts of the audit.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working for the company and the training provider is very good. I am not sure that is the career for me long term.

I've developed many skills, namely my communication, confidence and teamwork.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised from both the training provider and my employer. I know exactly where I am at in terms of my progression and what is expected of me. I also have all of the help I could possibly wish for.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive all the help I could possibly wish for. I am even going on secondment to the tax department to help with my tax exam in the Winter.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5

I receive the most support I could wish for. The classes are well structured and all tutors I have encountered so far have been very knowledgeable and willing to help, sometimes even out of normal working hours.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel as though my qualification definitely helps me to perform better in my role as it ensures that I have a full understanding of each area of accounting, including those that I do not come across on a day to day basis which improves my general knowledge and widens my ability within the workplace.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

In our department we have a social every quarter, ran by the junior members of staff. There is also lots of opportunities to get involved in marketing, networking and sporting events.
