Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working with computers to create electrical drawings and documentation to support various projects, moving every 6 months to increase breadth of experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Programme is really enjoyable, it is challenging, but it's great to look back and see what I have achieved over the time on the programme and in my previous Level 3 apprenticeship that I completed ahead of my degree apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Always learning new skills and about different areas of electrical engineering. Also provided with opportunities to develop soft skills and increased confidence in things like presenting, speaking up in meetings and running events.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised programme - lecturers are always available and on hand to support us with any questions, and we have mentors and peer networks at work to support us on a day-to-day basis.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support in experiences and variety of work, as well as support in completing university assignments and study leave when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Lecturers are always available and on hand to support us with any questions, and the course allows for work to be completed throughout the term with guidance throughout.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Qualification opens up knowledge in new areas and gives a wider scope of ideas around existing problems to try and introduce new solutions.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Co-Chair of the Gender Balance Network, Trade Union representative, STEM Lead for the Bristol Hub and involved in two Technical communities. Often involved in social events and office arrangements in part-time role as General Manager.
