Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

working in a team with designers and engineers to ensure the effective and efficient design of panels and systems for the UK nuclear industry. I also complete STEM events where I go into the local communities such as schools to talk about our company and what we do.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy working at the company, meeting new people and learning about the projects we have and how I can make an impact to them. Whilst also engaging the local community with the work we do.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Over the course of my apprenticeship I have developed and continued to grow many key skills through the use of apprenticeship development programmes and continual professional development. Whilst working in teams that support me with my professional, personal and career development.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured, organised and clearly communicated. meetings are held on a regular basis to discuss any issues or information that we need to be aware of. These meetings allow us to raise any key concerns we have, deciding on any potential corrective actions for them. Any changes or new information is also communicated in emails and messages,
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A high amount of support is received by both the early careers team and those in the team around me to ensure that I have everything I need to develop and grow my Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a high amount of support from the training provider, clearly communicating the work they expect to be completed, any deadlines and allowing us to ask any questions we may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification provided by the training provider allows us to take learning back to the workplace. Applying the knowledge we have gained to projects we are working on,
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am an active member of the work football team and continue to work events. Work also provides the opportunity to go to any work award ceremonies and events that we are representatives for. Alongside this there are also various professional networks in the company that we are able to be active members in.

Working at Cavendish Nuclear has allowed me to improve my confidence in the work that I am completing. through the programmes offered and development opportunities provided I have become significantly more confident in the work I am completing. I have improved my teamworking, communication skills and resilience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cavendish Nuclear?
I would encourage people to be themselves. Learn more about the company to help understand how you can impact any work the company does, allowing you to maximise the impact that you are having.
