Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to manage the performance and cost of our contract partner. I review weekly applications to ensure what is being applied is correct and inline with our framework.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme as I am learning new things and being taken out of my comfort zone.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learn some new skills around projects and cost control and managed to develop my report writing.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program hasn't been the most organised. Poor structure to the teaching and difficulties understanding lectures who aren't clear in their teaching.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have receive some support from my employer who when asked has tried to support me. However, when you ask for support in other business areas they arent great at responding.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

the support is there when required and fairly quick at responding to issues.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has defiantly helped me with looking at things in a different perspective and allowed me to be more critical in my thinking.,

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend SSE to a friend?
No
Why?
Lack of opportunities to progress. Managers aren't supportive of peoples goals and prefer to employee external candidates over integral employees. It took me 5 years to get any sort of training and that was down to my own perseverance.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SSE?
Don't expect to progress quickly within SSE. Lack of opportunities to move up and a lot of red tape prevents you from implementing new ideas.
