Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My apprenticeship consists of 6x 4 month long placements in different areas of the business, 1x day a week at uni and after the 6 placements you spend the last 2 years of the course specialising in an engineering area.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I highly enjoy my apprentice, I enjoy the aspects of learning both theory and hands on. I feel like I am always learning new skills and developing my knowledge further as I progress through the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills and developed many previously known skills also. I have developed my team, communication and leadership skills. I have learnt many engineering knowledge skills which I will continuously develop over my apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured, the placements are well thought out and provide structured learning within each different placement, the uni aspect of the placement is well structured and relates back to the actual learning made within the business.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am very well supported both at work and at uni, at work we have dedicated skill coach's who provide constant communication and provide all levels of support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

At work each apprentice has a dedicated skills coach who help provide support in working through my level 4 diploma and provides step by step plans of action to help me work towards my qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At uni, my tutors make sure to relate any learning we do back to relevant learning that is going on in my role within work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of extra-curricular activities at my work, there are regular socials for apprentices of different years to mix and there are also regular professional networking events held within the business for apprentices to mix as well as get involved in "stretch activities".
